Terms of Service
Last updated August 19, 2026. Questions: nyccjacob@gmail.com or the contact form.
These Terms are a contract between you and TaroPrep ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. What this is
TaroPrep is independent educational software for Digital SAT-style practice. It is not an official SAT, ACT, or AP product. We do not administer exams, report official scores, or admit anyone to a school.
2. No academic or admissions promises
Practice scores, predicted bands, diagnostics, and analytics are estimates from our models. They are not College Board or ACT scores. We do not warrant that your official score, GPA, or admissions outcome will improve. Testimonials and sample score jumps are illustrative, not a guarantee.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your password secret. You are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend accounts that are abusive, fraudulent, shared in a way that violates these Terms, or that attempt to scrape, copy, or resell content. The owner may appoint staff. Staff access is logged.
4. License to use content
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use questions, lessons, and explanations for your own study. You may not copy the bank, train models on it, publish items, or use the service to build a competing question set. All original items remain our copyright.
5. User content
Notes, class names, bug reports, and messages you submit stay yours, but you grant us a license to host them and to use reports to fix items. Do not submit anything illegal, confidential, or that you do not have the right to share.
6. Acceptable use
No scraping, no automated harvesting, no injecting code, no probing other users' data, no impersonation, no reverse engineering except as allowed by law. Rate limits and access controls are part of the service.
7. Paid features
Complimentary Pro may be enabled for everyone at launch. That is a promotion we can end. When we charge, prices are shown at checkout. Preview unlocks inside this demo do not create a billing relationship until a processor is connected. Refunds, if offered later, will be described at purchase.
8. Third parties
Sign-in may use Google or X. Desmos is a separate product. We are not responsible for third-party sites or outages. College Board and ACT materials are theirs. Do not upload official retired tests you do not have rights to.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that questions are free of mistakes. Report issues in-app.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TaroPrep AND ITS OWNERS, STAFF, AND SUPPLIERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST SCORES, LOST ADMISSIONS, LOST PROFITS, OR DATA LOSS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF TEN US DOLLARS (USD $10) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Some places do not allow these limits. In those places, our liability is limited to the minimum the law requires.
11. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or any law.
12. Privacy and deletion
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect. You may request deletion via the contact form or the deletion page. Some records we keep where the law requires (for example, fraud or abuse logs).
13. Changes and termination
We may change the service or these Terms. Continued use after a posted change is acceptance. We may stop offering features. You may close your account at any time.
14. Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless a mandatory consumer law in your country says otherwise. Courts in New York County, New York, have exclusive venue, except where the law gives you a non-waivable right to sue elsewhere.
15. Contact
Use the contact form. We are not a law firm, school, or test administrator. These Terms do not create a fiduciary, counselor, or teacher-student relationship beyond providing software.
