Account Deletion Policy
Last updated August 22, 2026. Questions belong in the contact form.
How to request deletion
Submit the contact form or email jacob@taroprep.com from the email used for the account. In the form, select Privacy or account deletion. If signed in, you may first download the available account export from Settings. We may ask you to verify control of the account email or sign-in method before deleting data.
Cancel billing first
If you have a paid subscription, open Settings and cancel automatic renewal through Manage billing before requesting deletion. Tell us if the portal is unavailable. Account deletion does not automatically reverse a completed charge or create a refund.
What is deleted
After verification, we delete or de-identify the account profile, practice attempts, test sessions, saves, notes, planner items, vocabulary and lesson progress, AI threads and images, personal rewards, social connections, guardian invitations, and other user-controlled study data, subject to the exceptions below. We also remove or anonymize class membership. Content owned by another classroom or already shared with others may remain with identifying information removed where practical.
What may be retained
We may retain a minimal deletion-request record, transaction and consent records, invoices, tax records, refund and dispute information, security and abuse evidence, legal holds, and information needed to establish or defend legal claims. We retain only what is reasonably necessary or legally required, and restrict it from ordinary product use.
Timing and backups
We ordinarily complete verified requests within 30 days, or within the period required by applicable law. Complex requests may receive a lawful extension with notice. Deleted data may remain temporarily in encrypted backups until ordinary rotation, but is not restored to active use except for disaster recovery or legal necessity.
Third-party accounts
Deleting TaroPrep does not delete your Google, Discord, Instagram, or Stripe account. Revoke linked authorization through the relevant provider if desired. Stripe may retain payment records under its legal obligations and privacy policy.
Irreversibility
Completed deletion cannot be undone. You may create a new account later, but previous progress, chats, rewards, and plan history may not be recoverable.
